British TGCC London Hallmark 3.1mm x 47cm 9ct Gold Taranto Chain Necklace

A voluminous Taranto chain necklace made of 9ct gold with a square 3.1mm width. The clasp is marked with the TGCC maker's mark, 375 gold control mark, 375 (9ct gold purity mark), and the hallmark of the London Leopard Assay Office. This necklace was made in Italy for sale within the UK. It has been inspected and stamped with the hallmark of the London Assay Office, the government-certified agency for testing the purity of precious metals. Estimated to be from the 1990s, this is a vintage item that may have minor abrasions, small scratches that are not easily visible, and other signs of wear.
