1975年、エジンバラでホールマークが刻まれた英国ヴィンテージのスターリングシルバーリング。本作は、1970年代に活動していた英国のモダンジュエリーブランド Magnus Maximus Designs（MMD）による作品です。Magnus Maximus Designsは、Michael Gray Bell、Pauline Diane Bell、Ian Murray Pennell の3名によって結成されたデザイナー兼クラフトマンによるジュエリー集団で、彫刻的かつミニマルなデザインを特徴とする1970年代英国モダニズムジュエリーを数多く制作しました。活動期間は比較的短いものの、その完成度の高さから現在ではコレクターズアイテムとして高く評価されています。フロントにはオーバル型のカボションカット・アメジストをセット。自然な紫の濃淡がシルバーの造形と調和し、落ち着いた存在感を放ちます。幅広でソリッドなアームは裏抜きのない構造となっており、安定感のある着用感で、実寸より約1サイズ小さめでもフィットしやすいデザインです。1970年代英国らしい洗練されたモダンスタイルと、ヴィンテージならではの奥行きを併せ持つ一本です。内側にMMDメーカーズマーク、グラスゴースタンダードマーク（スターリングシルバー）、エジンバラアッセイオフィスマーク、1975年デイトレターの刻印が押されています。これらは貴金属の純度を検査するイギリス政府の公認機関であるエジンバラアッセイオフィスのホールマークです。状態は目立つキズや破損もなく良好な状態です。ただし、ヴィンテージのため、細かな擦れや細かなキズが見られます。あらかじめご了承ください。

Crafted in 1975 and hallmarked in Edinburgh, this vintage British sterling silver ring was created by the modernist jewelry collective Magnus Maximus Designs (MMD), active in the UK during the 1970s.

Magnus Maximus Designs was formed by designer-makers Michael Gray Bell, Pauline Diane Bell, and Ian Murray Pennell, known for producing sculptural yet minimalist jewelry that embodied the spirit of British modernism. Though their period of activity was relatively short, their work is now highly sought after and regarded as collectible among vintage jewelry enthusiasts.

The ring features an oval cabochon-cut amethyst set prominently at the front, with natural variations of purple tones harmonizing beautifully with the silver structure, creating a calm yet striking presence.
The wide, solid band is constructed without a hollowed interior, providing excellent stability and a comfortable fit—often wearing approximately one size smaller than the measured size.

This piece combines refined 1970s British modern design with the depth and character unique to vintage jewelry.

Inside the band are stamped the MMD maker’s mark, the Glasgow standard mark indicating sterling silver purity, the Edinburgh Assay Office mark, and the 1975 date letter. These hallmarks were applied by the official British government assay office responsible for verifying precious metal purity.
